Well beside what I can't say because of OPSEC, I will try and say as much as possible...
I left the US offically, it was a 22 hour flight to the middle east... It was horrible, we flew from Virginia to Maine, Maine to Germany, Germany to Hell... It was hot when we got off the plane, 110 at 9am in the morning... We drank alot of water and then went to our barracks to get some sleep, we stayed in a tent with 40 guys, I slept right in front of the air, so I was freezing, stupid me, I sent my sleeping bag home... Chow was ok, everyone thought we were special forces, cause we had beards and dressed in civilian clothes... We couldn't tell them anything, so it was what it was... The day we were leaving, some arab man broke into our tent, stole my cell phone as well as others and a few laptops... that sucked!! Never caught him...
So we left, on our way to Baghdad, Iraq... We got on a C-130, cramed in and flew for 1 1/2 hours, while decending to the airport we took fire and had to do an evasive manuver, was very scarey!! But we are all ok!! The guys we are taking over for, picked us up from the airport, took us to the Perfume Palace, where we are staying for the next 9 months... The Perfume Palace is where Sadam kept all of his wives... Must have been nice for them, until during the war a JDAM bomb, which is a 2000 pounder went into its rhotunda and blew up, they fixed it as best they could, and the pics will show you some of it, will post the pics of whats left of the great hall soon....
So far, we have started missions, about 2 a day per team, not to bad, it will slow down they said, they are just pushing it alot to get us into the groove of things... I am learning alot... I have met alot of Iraqi's and so far they are pretty nice... Did not expect that!! We play the Iraqi guards in soccer on wed., we will prolly loose, and i hate soccer!!! But, they challenged us, so its on, we are gonna challenge them in baseball or an american sport...
The living arrangments are not that bad, we have plumbing, and air, and a real bed!! We get free laundry done, takes about a day, if that... Also you can view some of my video's on http://www.youtube.com/ my username is NJArmy27... I will update that every week or so, so check it out!!

put up pics of the city of baghdad and the perfume palace...I saw a pic of it online....does it really have a ma made lake around it?? Love you!!
Your airplane ride looked terrible. Also, do you think your picture will make it on money? How big is that stuff b/c it looks huge.
You are doing such a good job at answering all of my questions. I love the inclusion of ordinary things like the shower. Could you take a picture of your bed?
